Arttu Kemppainen
Hey! I’m Arttu Kemppainen and I am a professional musician and drum teacher. I have played many concerts and gigs as a freelancer e.g. pop, rock, jazz and big band music. I have studied to become a musician at the Oulu Conservatory, my teachers were Tauno Räsänen and Olli Estola. Currently I’m studying under Tomi Salesvuo and Tommi Rautiainen at the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences to become a music pedagogue. My drumming idols are for example Fred White, James Gadson, Elvin Jones, Billy Higgins, and Brian Blade. When I’m teaching, I focus on ergonomic hand and foot techniques, good swing and sound. However, the most important thing is that the lessons are fun!

Juuso Raatikainen
Greetings! I’m an all-around drummer and educator originating from Central Finland. I started playing drums at the age of 6 and the beat has been going on strong ever since. In 2012, I received a Bachelor’s degree in music instruction from Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and furthermore finished Master of Music program in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in 2018. While being an active freelance musician, I’m also part of the international metal act Swallow the Sun, with whom I have toured five continents. I’ve been teaching professionally for a decade. As a teacher I’m very student-oriented and believe in long-term pedagogical plans. Versatility is the key to great musicianship. Grab the sticks and open your ears!
