The school

Up & Down beats is a one-of-kind, private drumming school in Helsinki, Finland. We concentrate purely on drumming and offer tailor made courses to suit individual student’s ambitions. Whether you simply wish to play for fun or if your ambitions are to become a rockstar, we’ve got you covered!

Christian Schäfer founded the school in 2009. Since then the school has taught hundreds of new drummers. Currently our professional drum teachers in Helsinki are Juha Räsänen, Juuso Raatikainen and Arttu Kemppainen, who have many years of experience in both teaching and playing in different bands.
